Welcome...
A sneak preview
This is the new book cover of Crank Tech One - DESTRUCTION, and I wanted all of my fans who have read my other series, to see it first. It will be online on Amazon, Waterstones and all good retailers sites in the next few days, for all to see. I just wanted my readers to get a sneak preview. This is my first venture into Sci-fi. I love it and I think you'll agree that it is a really magnetic cover. The artwork is by Derek Jones, it's a new venture for him too. He has done all the covers on my other books, but this is his first sci-fi project. He wanted a Marvel/DC style finish. What do you think? It's totally different to my other book jackets. Go to my contact page and let me know what you think. Enjoy. |
A new project
I've recently been working on a new idea for a new project. I can't reveal too much at the moment because, it may not take place. If it does, it will be really good for my career. I know I'm being a bit vague, at the moment, but I just want to keep my readers in the loop. If it works out, I'll definitely let you know. Watch this space!

Teachers and Librarians
Hi, teachers, librarians, writing circles and reading groups. That's covered everyone I think. I have a schools page on my website, but I thought I would tell you a little about what I do.
I really enjoy running school workshops and I start with a quiz; this is in the shape of cards with titles on. I hold them up for the children to give me quick-fire answers (this is to break the ice and let the pupils get to know me). I use prop's and mime to make up a story, which the pupils set the characters and plot. I also love doing author talks in assemblies, with a few hundred children. I am very animated and involve everyone in the audience. Not all children like to read, but after seeing me role-play my adventures on stage - even the most reluctant of reader will join in and have fun.
My books are filled with fast-paced excitement, impossible situations and danger that only a super-hero can escape. If you want to know more, go to the Schools Page and check out the pics and info. My books are on the ...wait for it! Books Page.
Adult readers groups and writing circles: I craft my talks so that audiences will enjoy, no matter what age.
Email me through my Contact Page for info on my fee. Thank you.
Crank Tech One: DESTRUCTION - latest book
My latest book will be called 'Crank Tech One: DESTRUCTION', a Sci-Fi novel, and will be part of a three book series by Tallyberry Publishing. Everything is going to plan and I'll let you know how the book is proceeding. It's launch will be at Waterstones Cardiff on Saturday September 22nd 2012.
Interview - Buddy Magazine
In July I'm doing an interview and promoting my new book for the launch in Cardiff later in September. The Editor of Buddy Magazine; Simon Weaver will be asking me questions for the 'About the Author,' column and the book cover and blurb will be put on the 'Bookshelf' page, to advertise the book when it's published.
Readers Comments:
'Wizards' Kingdom' is a story which begs to be read by the crackle and comfort of firelight. Fans of J RR Tolkien will feel instantly at home in rolling valleys, deep mines and amongst the legendary creatures. Colin R. Parsons invites young readers to begin a journey through his fantasy series with the relish of a skilful storyteller familiar with all things wonderfully Hobbiton. reviewed by John Lloyd at Waterstones Bath.
I really had to think about this review before writing it. There is so much right with Crank Tech One but there is also a lot that is wrong. But overall my experience reading the book was positive. The best thing to say about Crank Tech Run is that it was a fun read. The book is quirky, the story a bit different, it had some fun twists to the story and overall I read it with a smile on my face. I’ve read a lot of “robot” stories and seen a number of “robot” movies and this story was fairly original and not a rehash of plots I had seen before.
However, the writing is very uneven. There are points where I was impressed with a well written section, and then cringing at the writing in another section. Many times the story progressed forward brilliantly – but at other points it relied on hokey contrivances. If the entire book were written up to the standards of its best segments, it would be a five star sci-fi classic. The poor parts had the effect of pulling me out of the story, which is never good.
I am going with four stars because the plot was original, and there were several shining moments in the book.L Sweet 4 stars October 12 2015
